Great Ohio River Relay Highlights The Danger Of Barging Fracking Wastewater On The River

The Great Ohio River Relay starts at noon on Sept. 14, 2013 in Pittsburgh, PA,. The will pass through the six states the Ohio River provides water for - 10 percent of the U.S. population gets drinking rater from the river. 

The relay will raise awareness for the proposed barging of toxic fracking wastewater on the Ohio River and other waterways in the U.S.The Wheeling Water Warriors organized the relay and Faith Communities Together for Fracking Awareness, Ohio Valley PEACE, Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Southern Illinoisans Against Fracturing Our Environment, Marcellus Outreach Butler, Tour de Frack, Appalachia Resist and Footprints for Peace are co-sonsors.
