DEP Public Notice - County - Doddridge - Notice of Intent to Approve Permit R13-3080 for Antero Resources Appalachian Corporation

Doddridge County is becoming a pockmarked industrial zone and no longer looks like the country paradise and that attracted many new residents and kept the long term residents here. With the property values going downhill, only the rich who can afford to take a major loss on their homes and property can afford to get out and save their health. The new middle class has no recourse but to stay on and suckle from the Oil and Gas industry for as long as the work and their health will allow. Here below is the latest permit to be unleashed upon Doddridge County adding to the new iron pipe and smokestack strewn landscape.

AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE

Notice of Intent to Approve

On May 16, 2013, Antero Resources Appalachian Corporation applied to the WV
Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality (DAQ) for a
permit to construct the

Pennington Compressor Station located approximately
3.16 miles east of Smithburg, WV north of US Route (US) 50, Doddridge County

WV at latitude 39.28903 and longitude -80.67588.  A preliminary evaluation has
determined that all State and Federal air quality requirements will be met by
the proposed facility.  The DAQ is providing notice to the public of its
preliminary determination to issue the permit as R13-3080.
The following potential emissions will be authorized by this permit action:
Particulate Matter less than 2.5 microns, tons per year (TPY); 3.84 Particulate
Matter less than 10 microns, 3.84 TPY; Particulate Matter, 3.84 TPY; Sulfur
Dioxide, 0.09 TPY; Oxides of Nitrogen, 8.37 TPY; Carbon Monoxide, 18.57 TPY;
Volatile Organic Compounds, 51.32 TPY; Hazardous Air Pollutants, 4.65 TPY.

Written comments or requests for a public meeting must be received by the DAQ
before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013.  A public meeting may be held if
the Director of the DAQ determines that significant public interest has been
expressed, in writing, or when the Director deems it appropriate.

The purpose of the DAQ's permitting process is to make a preliminary
determination if the proposed construction will meet all State and Federal air
quality requirements.  The purpose of the public review process is to accept
public comments on air quality issues relevant to this determination.  Only
written comments received at the address noted below within the specified time
frame, or comments presented orally at a scheduled public meeting, will be
considered prior to final action on the permit.  All such comments will become
part of the public record.
